Frederic Chopin was a 19th-century Polish composer and pianist, widely regarded as one of the greatest geniuses of Romantic music.

Born in 1810 in Żelazowa Wola, northwest of Warsaw, he quickly showed prodigious talent for the piano and began composing at an early age. His music is characterized by deep emotional sensitivity, melodic lyricism and virtuoso piano technique.

Chopin moved to Paris in 1831, where he spent most of his creative life. His iconic compositions include preludes, nocturnes, etudes, waltzes and polonaises, each an example of elegance and refined musical expression. His unique and innovative style helped redefine solo piano music.

Despite his short life, Chopin left behind a timeless musical legacy that continues to inspire and amaze music lovers around the world. His works are performed and celebrated around the world, and his influence on classical music continues today, making him one of the most revered composers of all time.

Frederic Chopin is buried in Père Lachaise Cemetery in Paris.
