The bookend Venus the Milo depicts the statue of Aphrodite, the goddess of love is the greek mithology.
The statue discovered in 1863 on the island of Melos was carved 100 BC. This master of art is presented in the gallery of the Louvre Museum.
On the side of the bookend is presented an elevation of the Sully pavilion (Pavillon) with the pyramide of Le Louvre.
